A unique identifier stamped on the engine block or cover used for parts and service.

Locate the engine code on the front timing cover, just below the camshaft cover. It is stamped into the metal or on a white label near the timing chain housing. For diesel models, confirm code starts with 'TDCi'.

The engine code is located on a label attached to the intake manifold, near the turbocharger. It reads 'EcoBoost 1.0' or shows the specific variant code. Note: This engine uses a wet belt requiring special attention.

Open the hood and look at the front left of the engine (passenger side). The code is on a white label near the timing cover. Confirm 'EcoBoost 1.5' for petrol hybrid models.
