Who operates this website

EngineCode.uk is operated by Engine Finders UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13157944. Our registered office is 113 Park Road, Ilford, England, IG1 1SQ. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that company.

You can contact us at support@enginefinders.co.uk. Our Contact page lists specialist contacts for corrections, privacy and copyright concerns.

What the website provides

We publish engine-reference information and offer an optional replacement-engine enquiry service. EngineCode.uk is not an official vehicle-manufacturer website. Manufacturer names, model names and trademarks identify the subjects discussed and do not imply manufacturer endorsement.

Our commercial relationship with Engine Finders and connected businesses is explained in our Ownership and Commercial Disclosure. You do not need to submit an enquiry to read our reference content.

Using technical information

Engine codes, specifications, vehicle applications and related information can vary by market, production date, variant and individual vehicle history. Records may be incomplete, outdated or contain mistakes. A shared or similar engine code does not by itself establish that engines or components are interchangeable.

Use the website as a research and identification aid. Before buying an engine or parts, or arranging mechanical work, confirm the exact vehicle and engine details with the supplier or a suitably qualified technician using appropriate vehicle-specific documentation. A registration lookup may not identify the exact engine variant or a subsequently fitted replacement.

The website does not provide an inspection or diagnosis of your vehicle. Do not use a general record as the sole basis for a safety-critical repair decision. These limitations do not remove our responsibility to exercise any care required by law in providing our own services.

If you find an error, use Report a Problem. Our Corrections Policy explains how we handle reports.

Replacement-engine enquiries

Submitting an enquiry asks us to handle the information you provide and pass it to relevant participating suppliers so they can respond about your requirement. More than one supplier may contact you. The collection notice and Privacy Policy explain how this works and what happens to your information.

The enquiry service is intended for vehicles in the United Kingdom, with UK delivery or fitting addresses, and connects you with engine suppliers in the UK. We may not be able to respond to an enquiry for a vehicle, delivery or fitting outside the UK. The reference content on this website remains available to readers anywhere.

There is no charge to submit an enquiry and no obligation to accept an offer. We do not guarantee that a supplier will respond, that a particular engine is available, or that an offer will be the lowest price or suitable for your vehicle. The service does not represent every supplier in the market.

Please provide accurate details and only submit another person's contact information if you are authorised to act for them. You must be at least 18 to submit an enquiry or act on behalf of a business. This does not prevent younger readers from accessing the reference material.

An enquiry is not an order for an engine, fitting or other work. Before agreeing to purchase, check the supplier's identity, engine specification, condition, total price, delivery or collection arrangements, fitting requirements, warranty and returns terms. Any resulting supply or fitting contract is with the supplier identified in its offer. We remain responsible for our own actions and obligations in operating the enquiry service.

If you want to correct or withdraw your enquiry, contact support@enginefinders.co.uk with your enquiry reference. We will explain what we can stop or amend. We cannot recall information already received by a supplier, but we can help identify relevant recipients and explain how to contact them.

Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing and your rights. Our Cookie Policy explains storage and similar technologies. Reading these Terms or submitting an enquiry does not give blanket permission for unrelated marketing.

Text, images, database material and other content may be protected by copyright, database rights or other rights. We do not claim ownership of third-party trademarks or material merely because it appears on this website.

Where a specific Creative Commons or other licence is stated for particular material, that licence governs use of that material within the rights the licensor can grant. A licence for a dataset does not automatically cover every image, trademark, document or linked source. Previously granted, valid Creative Commons permissions remain subject to their licence terms; our commercial services do not by themselves cancel them.

Where no licence or permission is stated, do not assume unrestricted republication or commercial reuse is authorised. Statutory exceptions and other rights available under applicable law remain unaffected. Contact copyrights@enginecode.uk if you need clarification or believe material infringes your rights.

Links may lead to manufacturers, public bodies, other sources or commercial services. The destination's terms and privacy information apply to its services. Links to businesses connected with us should identify the connection where relevant. A source link is not a guarantee that every statement on a page is supported by that source.

Acceptable use and availability

Do not misuse the site, interfere with its security or operation, submit fraudulent enquiries, or send unlawful or abusive content. We may restrict misuse and take reasonable steps to protect the service. We may update, correct or temporarily suspend parts of the website, but this does not remove obligations we already owe you.

Our responsibility

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

We are responsible for our own service in accordance with applicable law. Supplier responsibility for an engine or fitting contract does not excuse a failure in our own service. The technical limitations explained above describe the scope of this reference website; they are not a blanket exclusion of responsibility for misleading information or a failure to meet legal duties.

Complaints, changes and applicable law

Use our Complaints Procedure if you are dissatisfied with our website or enquiry handling. Complaining does not restrict your legal rights or access to a regulator or court.

We may update these Terms when the website or service changes. The published date identifies the current version. Material changes will not retrospectively remove rights arising from an enquiry submitted under an earlier version.

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Nothing here prevents a consumer bringing proceedings in a court available to them under applicable law.
